ABOUT THE BOOK
Nothing is wrong
with your life.
And still, you keep wondering…
Is this it?
You’ve done the work of figuring out who you are. You’ve built a life that looks good on paper. So why does it still feel like you’re waiting for the real one to start?
If you’ve ever found yourself asking this question, this book is for you.
Once you know who you are, do you trust yourself enough to build an entire life around it?
They were free.
But never fully
learned how to live.
There’s an old story about people who were set free and then spent forty years wandering in the wilderness. Free, but never fully alive.
It’s easy to do the same: to know what gives us life and still hesitate, doomscroll, and wait for a clearer sign.
Tailwind is a collection of essays about noticing what gives you life, trusting what you already know, and finding the courage to follow it.
Written for anyone feeling undone by the world right now, it’s a way to find your footing without hardening or checking out.
Because the wind only feels like a problem when you’re facing the wrong way.
You know who you are. Now, will you live like it?
HEY THERE, IT’S ME, ERIN.
Tailwind is coming out the day before I turn 40.
It’s not lost on me that I’m turning forty while writing, in part, about a group of people who spent forty years wandering in the wilderness.
I spent most of my twenties racing around trying to become who I thought I was “supposed to be.” Then, I spent much of my thirties figuring out who I actually was.
And now, standing at the doorstep of 40 (not there yet), I want to trust myself enough to go wherever that leads me.
This collection of personal essays is about how life went from constantly feeling like I was in a headwind to discovering what made me curious, what gave me energy, and what ultimately became finding my own Tailwind.
I wish that for you too.
